Within the seminar students can give talks on current topics in condensed matter physics. In the summer semester 2012 the seminar will focus on spin electronics, solid-state quantum information processing, physics of solid-state nanostructures, and high temperature superconductivity (including the previously discovered FeAs superconductors).

The seminar is relevant for the special courses on "Superconductivity and Low Temperature Physics" as well as on "Magnetism and Spintronics". It is suitable for bachelor and master students in the 6. semester and higher. Seminar talks can be given either in English or in German.

This seminar deals with spin-related phenomena in solid state physics. The focus of the seminar will be on
1. spin mechanics
2. spin dynamics
3. spin caloritronics
4. spin pumping
All topics have substantial overlap with magnetism-related research activities at the WMI and the TUM physics department. Seminar talks can be given either in English or in German.

The seminar is relevant for the special courses on "Magnetism and Spintronics". The seminar is suitable for bachelor and master students in the 6. semester and higher. Seminar talks can be given either in English or in German.
